First Lego League Robot Tournament 2017-18
Please see details of the tournament description in the video clip.
We have entered the tournament again this year which will take place in Bristol on Thursday 18th of January. The team will consist of 10 members from years 5 and 6(this is the restricted limit stated by FLL). There will be a lot of work involved to prepare for the tournament, research, thinking, problem solving, project based learning, writing, designing, creating, building and coding. The standard at the tournament is very high and therefore I have to select 10 based on many factors as the next 3 months will involve a lot of work. Due to this I have set a piece of homework to support my choosing of the 10 which will demonstrate some of these skills in preparation to begin the project.
Your homework will be to think of a problem associated with water, this could be in school, home, locally, nationally or internationally. You will also need to think of a solution to this problem. This will involve a little research, thinking skills and writing skills (Watch the video for more information).
Please could you bring your written work in on Tuesday ready to present to the others who are interested in joining the Lego Robots team.
I must also state there is a fee of £15 per child for this tournament which covers the £150 already paid by the school. This fee covers the entrance to the tournament, the playing mat and all the Lego challenges. This fee will be paid once the 10 members have been chosen.
