Who's Who

Chair of Governors

Angharad Thomas Richards

I am a local authority governor and currently the Chair of the Governing Body. I’ve been a governor at Bryn Deri for 3 ½ years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I’m a civil servant by profession with a focus on law and governance. I hope I am able to bring some of these skills and experiences to the governing body and support our navigation of a changing educational environment particularly through the introduction of the new curriculum. I’m a first language Welsh speaker and hope I can bring my language skills and commitment to the School and help us embed the language into the culture of the School. During any spare time I have I enjoy reading, the arts, walking and running the odd barbeque at School events.

Tracy Riley Parent Governor

I am really enjoying my role as parent governor at Bryn Deri. I wanted to get involved because as a mum to two children, Grace (year 6) and Harry (year 3) I want them to have the opportunity to thrive at Bryn Deri. I hope to be able to represent other parents to make sure that school provides the best possible opportunities and experiences for all our children. I have worked within the Financial Services sector for over 20 years, with vast experience setting up and running large multifunctional operations, from call centres to complaint handling functions. I hope that my experience will be useful as a member of the Governing body. Family time is important to me and enjoy making memories with my nearest and dearest. When I have time, I enjoy cooking which is a new hobby of mine and I also have started to enjoy gardening too. I love to read whilst enjoying the sunshine and I am a member of a local gym where I try to frequent as much as I can.

James Homer-Boyd - Parent Governor

I am proud to be an ex-pupil of Bryn Deri and am delighted that my own children attend the school. I have been a governor since Autumn 2020 and also work with the Bryn Deri PTA. An ex-teacher with experience in primary and secondary age ranges, I have supported ICT in Education throughout my career. I currently work in the EdTech sector supporting School Information Management Systems. I enjoy learning and have studied on a range of diverse subjects over the years, such as Data Security and Networking, Diseases and Disorders of the Brain, Society and Education, Mental Health First Aid and The Political Systems of Wales. Dwi’n dysgu Cymraeg. I have dreams of finally completing a restoration of a classic car. I adore music and have dabbled with Violin, Banjo, Guitar and Piano and other instruments in the past.
