Welcome to the Bryn Deri PTA. The PTA exists to raise funds to donate to the school to spend on enhancing our children's educational experience but is not covered in the school budget. All parents/carers are automatically members of the PTA. If you want to join the committee, please attend a committee meeting, which is usually held on the 2nd Thursday of each half term. Details are sent out by the school. Volunteers are always welcome.
Listed below are details of our continuing fundraising efforts, such as the monthly prize draw and the key fundraising events that the PTA holds annually. Additional fundraising events are held throughout the school year. Help Us Raise Funds
As well as events, there are a number of ongoing low effort ways we use to continually raise funds. Below are details of our schemes:
PTA Prize Draw: Many parents subscribe to this and each month you have the chance to win £25, £15 or £10. You pay £12 per entrant annually which equates to £1 per month. Download and complete the application form below or pick one up at a PTA event.
Second Hand Uniform Shop: a rail of second hand clothing is available in the school foyer and at events such as parents evening.
New This Year! Second Hand Costume Shop: stuck to find costumes for Christmas plays, costume days etc? Please donate your unwanted costumes to the PTA at the school office. We will be selling them at the Christmas Fayre, parents evenings and other events.
The Giving Machine:to join, register as a Giver to Bryn Deri primary school on The Giving Machine website. All you then do is shop via The Giving Machine website at participating websites. Each purchase generates a donation. It doesn't cost you anything!

Matched Funding: If your employer operates a Fund Match scheme and you would like to help the PTA in this way, please let the school office know and someone from the PTA will contact you to discuss your companies' scheme requirements.
Scholastic Bookfair: twice a year, during parent consultation evenings, 3.30-6.30pm, Bryn Deri School Hall. Buy books and earn commission for the school to spend on books for our children.
Annual Fundraising Events:
Christmas and Summer Fayres: These are our biggest fundraising events in the school year. Held on a Saturday between 10am-12pm. The Christmas Fayre is usually held in late November/early December and the Summer Fayre is held in late June/early July. There are seasonal stalls, such as Santa's grotto and plant sales, along with other stalls such as jolly jam jars, café, BBQ, tombolas, books and raffle. Volunteers and donations are always welcome at these events.
Discos: Two discos are held per year - the 'Spooks and Sparkles' disco (held close to Halloween/Bonfire Night) and the 'Valentines' disco (held close to 14th February) in the school hall. Foundation phase: 5.15-6.15pm, Key Stage 2: 6.30-7.30pm. These are very popular events. An admission price is charged which includes crisps and a drink. Sweets and hot dogs are often on sale.
Rags2Riches4Schools: Donate your unwanted good quality clothes and linen. Collections are held once a term - bags are provided. The PTA receives payment by the kilo.
