In our P.E. lessons we are learning to use gym apparatus carefully and develop our gross motor skills! We have been experimenting with different ways of moving and focussing on rolling, balancing, jumping, and frog hopping! πΈπ
Through these activities, we’re not just building strong bodies but also boosting health and wellbeing. Exercise fosters self-confidence, teamwork, and resilience, all essential skills for their personal growth. π
Our little learners embarked on an exciting journey of exploration with Jigsaw Faces! π¨ We utilised our fine motor skills to carefully match and manipulate the pieces, piecing together the elements of a familiar face. This fun activity not only sparked creativity but also enriched our pre-reading and mathematical skills as we discussed shapes, sizes, and patterns!
We really enjoyed putting together our own faces, and like looking at them in our classroom. It is wonderful to see them developing essential skills while having so much fun! π
Exploring Our Five Senses! πποΈππ ποΈ
This week, our pupils dived into the fascinating world of our five senses. Through stories and information books, they discovered how we perceive the world around us.
Creative Crafts: We crafted vibrant glasses and giant ears to prepare for a thrilling sound walk, where we tuned in to the symphony of sounds around us! ππ
Smelling Fun: With our sense of smell on the job, we played detective with smelling pots, guessing the different scents hidden within! π΅οΈβοΈπ
Tasty Investigations: Participating in a crisp tasting challenge, we worked hard to uncover the delicious flavours.ππ€
Sensory Walks: We took off our shoes and socks, braving the textures of various sensory bins—what a squishy and fun experience! π§¦πΌ
Artistic Endeavours: Finally, we got creative by painting with scented paint while listening to music, combining our artistic side with scent and sound. π¨πΆ
We had a wonderful time! Learning is so much fun!
